An opportunity to grow with us

We are looking for an experienced forestry professional to join our growing and ambitious team in Moray.

We work across a diverse range of forestry projects throughout North Scotland, from commercial and estate forestry to woodland creation, timber harvesting and large-scale ecological restoration.

We’re looking for someone with good forestry experience who is ready for their next challenge. You don’t need to arrive knowing every aspect of the role, and we’re not looking for someone who can necessarily do everything from day one.

What matters to us is finding the right person: someone who is practical and hands-on, willing to learn how we work, enjoys being part of a team and has the drive and ambition to develop their own role as the company continues to grow.

The Role

You’ll initially work alongside our experienced team, learning our systems, clients and approach to project delivery.

As your knowledge and confidence develop, you’ll have the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for projects and clients, develop your own areas of expertise and ultimately help shape your position within the business.

Your work could include:

  • Forest and woodland management planning

  • Woodland creation projects

  • Forestry grant applications

  • Timber harvesting and sales

  • Operational forestry and contractor management

  • Woodland surveys and inventories

  • GIS mapping

  • Client and stakeholder meetings

  • Site inspections

  • Ecological restoration projects

  • Developing existing and new client relationships

  • Constructively working with key stakeholders in consultation process

We don’t expect candidates to have extensive experience in every one of these areas. Training and support will be provided where required.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll already have practical experience within forestry, woodland management, forestry consultancy or a related area.

More importantly, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Has a practical, hands-on approach

  • Is willing to learn and develop

  • Takes pride in delivering high-quality work

  • Communicates well with clients, contractors and colleagues

  • Is organised and takes responsibility for their work

  • Enjoys working both outdoors and in the office

  • Wants to contribute ideas and help develop the business

  • Works well as part of a growing team

  • Has the ambition to take on greater responsibility over time

  • Holds a full UK driving licence

Experience in forest planning, woodland creation, grant applications, timber harvesting, GIS or operational forestry would be beneficial, but we recognise that the right candidate may be stronger in some areas than others.

What We Offer

We want this to be a long-term opportunity for the right person.

In return, we offer:

  • A competitive salary reflecting your experience and potential

  • Company vehicle

  • Company Pension Scheme

  • Private healthcare

  • Performance-related bonus

  • Flexible working arrangements based on a 40 hour working week

  • Training and professional development

  • Varied and interesting projects

  • Genuine scope to develop your role as the company grows

  • The opportunity to become an important part of the future of the business

We’re not simply looking for someone to fill a vacancy. We’re looking for someone who wants to become part of our team, develop with us and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

Interested? We’d be pleased to hear from you.
